Check your personal details

All final year students should take a moment ahead of their final results release date to review their full name and address in MySIS to ensure that any Degree Certificate received is issued in the correct name and posted to the right address.

 

Please check your MySIS record as soon as possible because, shortly after you receive your final results, you will lose access to make any amendments. 

Your Name

Your degree certificate and other official documentation (HEAR, award letter etc.) display your full name as it appears on the MySIS 'My Details' page. The name on your student record (MySIS) should match the name on the ID you provided us with at Enrolment e.g. your passport. If any updates are needed, please contact the Frontline Enquiry Team via AskQM by logging in and raising an enquiry under the category 'Changing your Personal Details'.

Please be aware that any future employers may request verification of award before finalising a job offer. They might check your name on your certificate against the name on your official ID and any mismatches could lead to delays. Therefore, it is in your best interest to ensure the name on your record is accurate before you are no longer a student. 

Your Address

Please note this guidance does not apply to students who are studying on a transnational education programme in China (BUPT, NPU and Hainan). Your certificate will be distributed by colleagues in China and will not be posted to you by Queen Mary.

Undergraduate and postgraduate taught students:

Unless collected on the day of the graduation ceremony, certificates will be sent to the home address on record. As certificates and address labels are produced immediately after results are released, we strongly encourage you to check and update your details as soon as possible. 

You can check and edit your home address yourself via the MySIS 'My Details' page. Click 'My Details', then 'View my details'. Scroll down to the 'Addresses' section and review your home address. If any amendment is required, click 'Edit Addresses' and update the details.

Postgraduate research students:

Your certificate will always be posted to the results address on record and will not be available to collect during your graduation ceremony. This is because PhD students are awarded on a monthly basis and we do not want you to wait until a ceremony to receive your certificate, which could be several months post award.

You can check and edit your results address yourself via the MySIS 'My Research Details' page. Click 'Contacts' and review your results address. If any amendment is required, scroll down and click 'Edit Addresses' to update the details.

A notice for all students

Please note that late requests to amend your name or address may not be processed in time. Names may not be changed after award unless an exception criteria applies. We cannot accept responsibility for certificates sent to an incorrect address because you have not updated your information. If a certificate needs to be reissued because of a delivery failure, you will be required to purchase a replacement.
