Published:

Philip Cowley, Professor of Politics at Queen Mary University of London, discusses the trend of more MPs being ‘local champions’ with roots to the area. He writes: “Unless there is a massive change in the type of people selected in coming elections, we should expect to see this trend continue, and the Commons become more local still.”

Professor Cowley was also quoted in an article in the Times on Boris Johnson and the number of aides he has had in office.
