The post-Brexit battleground of twinned towns

Lecturer in International Political Sociology, Dr Holly Eva Ryan wrote an article for Independent discussing the political fate of ‘twinned towns’ following Brexit. She writes: “The practice of twinning towns and other communities has often been viewed as a cultural or leisure-based activity. Now, though, Brexit has drawn the politics of twinning into sharper public focus. Some people are pressing to erase their town’s longstanding relationships with European partners.”
