A YouGov poll shows that nearly all Remain supporting academics feel comfortable expressing their views publicly but their Brexiteer counterparts are likely to self-censor their views due to a fear of consequences for their careers. Dr Lee Jones from Queen Mary’s School of Politics and International Relations said: “Universities are the only place in society where you can debate freely. If they don’t uphold that right then there is nothing special about them.”
