Many tactical votes will be cast in ignorance

In a comment piece for The Times, Professor Philip Cowley writes: “To judge from some of the coverage, you might think that every single voter in the UK was about to vote tactically in the election, and that they spent all their waking hours avidly consuming advice from the plethora of tactical voting websites that have sprung up. Yet some caution is needed. The Mile End Institute’s latest YouGov survey of voters in London shows that, while tactical voting is on the increase, a lot of these votes might well be cast in
ignorance.”
