Independents seek to break the mould on party politics

As the political parties battle across the country, there is another group keen to break through in the election next month. At least 10 former MPs who left the Tories or Labour are hoping to keep their seats by defeating their old parties. Professor of Politics, Professor Philip Cowley said: “It’s always best to bet against the independent candidates winning. They’re often surprised by how much they relied on the party machine to run a campaign and get out the vote.”
