Dr Javier Sajuria, Lecturer in Politics, commented on a study by New York University, Duke University and Princeton University where over the course of a month Republican Twitter users followed a bot that automatically retweeted posts from Democrat politicians, pundits and journalists, and vice versa for Democrat Twitter users. Dr Sajuria said: “This paper seems to support [the idea] that not all exposure to diverse views is good”, adding that “some can produce acceptance to these views, but others can produce backlash.”PDF available on request
