Dr Alice Williamson

Postdoctoral research assistant inHead shot of Alice Williamson - Postdoctoral research assistant in Computational Genomics and Multiomics Computational Genomics and Multiomics

Alice recently completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge, as part of a Wellcome Trust PhD programme in Metabolic Disease at the MRC Epidemiology Unit and Institute of Metabolic Science. Using both computational genomics approaches and cell-based experimental follow up, her PhD research investigated the genetic and molecular contribution of metabolic subphenotypes to type 2 diabetes aetiology. Prior to her PhD, Alice gained a BSc in Genetics at the University of Manchester and MSc in Human Molecular Genetics at Imperial College London.

Alice’s research will focus on the integrated examination of genomics with other ‘omics and metabolic traits in population studies to investigate the molecular mechanisms of a diverse range of diseases.
