Can our school or college request a workshop?
Schools and colleges can submit an enquiry for workshops and outreach activities delivered by Queen Mary University of London.
We offer sessions on a range of topics, including higher education, student life, progression pathways, application support and subject exploration.
Availability varies throughout the year and some activities have specific eligibility requirements. Once we receive your enquiry, we will review your requirements and recommend suitable opportunities where available.
Can my students visit Queen Mary University of London?
We offer a range of on-campus opportunities throughout the year, including workshops, campus visits, taster events and outreach programmes.
Availability and eligibility criteria vary between activities. We recommend exploring our Events and Resources Hub or submitting an enquiry to discuss suitable opportunities for your students.
Are your activities free?
Yes. Unless otherwise stated, our outreach activities and events are free of charge.
Can any school or college work with Queen Mary?
We welcome enquiries from all schools and colleges.
Our outreach activity primarily supports students in Years 11 to 13 and the people who influence their decisions, including parents, carers, teachers and advisers.
Some activities are open to all students, while others are targeted towards specific schools, colleges or student groups as part of our commitment to widening participation.
Eligibility requirements are outlined on individual programme and event pages.
Which students are eligible for widening participation programmes?
- Their parent or carer did not attend higher education.
- They have been eligible for free school meals.
- Their parent or carer works in a non-professional occupation.
- They have a disability.
- They are a young carer.
- They are estranged from their family.
- They are care-experienced or have lived in local authority care.
Can my students receive support with travel costs?
Travel support may be available for eligible students attending selected on-campus activities.
Teachers and advisers wishing to enquire about support for a group visit should contact the team with details of their proposed activity and students.
Funding, eligibility criteria and application processes vary between programmes.
Is parking available on campus?
Unfortunately, visitor parking is not available on our campuses, including coach parking.
A limited number of spaces may be available for Blue Badge holders. Please contact us before your visit to discuss accessibility requirements.
What safeguarding arrangements are in place?
All outreach staff and student ambassadors receive safeguarding training.
Staff visiting schools and colleges will carry Queen Mary identification and University lanyards.
Schools and colleges remain responsible for supervising students during outreach activities unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing with Queen Mary.

How do you use student data?
We use student data to evaluate the effectiveness of our outreach activities and understand how students progress into higher education.
Information may be securely stored within the Higher Education Access Tracker (HEAT) and used alongside other evaluation methods to help improve our programmes and measure impact.
