The American and The Maiden

When: Sunday, February 19, 2023, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Where: The Octagon, The Sisyphus String Quartet, Mile End

The Sisyphus Quartet’s debut concert features two of the most exciting string quartets in the canon. First is Antonin Dvorak’s American Quartet, written during his time in the United States, which uses his revolutionary ideas gained from visiting the New World. This is followed by Schubert’s Death and the Maiden, written near the time when the composer discovered that he was dying of syphilis.
Tickets are free, and we’d love to see you there! Bean bags, lying on the floor (with yoga mats provided), or just sitting normally are all encouraged.
