Quantitative techniques

With the new requirement that A level students are competent using quantitative techniques we have been embedding this work into some of our work with sixth formers and teachers.
See the report produced by the RGS- IBG Nuffield funded project on Quantitative skills

We highly recommend the RGS -IBG booklet ‘A Students guide to the NEA’ which is available to download and contains worked examples of many statistical techniques.

Here in the School of Geography at QMUL we have run some workshops on quantitative techniques for sixth formers. Our booklet uses data from Tower Hamlets around the theme of changing places to practice using Spearman’s Rank Correlation.
