Profile

Chao Shu is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). He received his PhD degree in Electronic Engineering from QMUL in 2021. Before he started his PhD, he worked in the telecommunications industry as an R&D software engineer and then as a division manager.
      
He joined QMUL as a lecturer in the School of EECS in 2021. He has been teaching for the QMUL-BUPT Joint Programme since September 2021. His teaching covers a wide range of subject areas in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. He is currently the Co-Head of the Data Analytics Scholarship Working Group and the Co-Head of the Curriculum Enhancement Scholarship Working Group in the School of EECS at QMUL. His research interests include machine-learning-aided antenna/circuit design, data-driven education, Learner Engagement Analytics (LEA) informed pedagogy, and AI-enabled personalised education.
      
He has authored and co-authored over 30 journal and conference papers, 1 book chapter, and holds 13 granted patents. He is a reviewer of several reputable journals and conferences in his subject area, including IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, IEEE Access, Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, Physical Communication. He is also a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification holder since 2015.
