Looking back at 2025/26
As we prepare to welcome a new cohort of students to the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), we're taking a moment to reflect on the achievements, milestones and stories that have shaped the 2025/26 academic year.

Over the past year, we published 95 pieces of content showcasing the people, research, innovation and opportunities that make EECS such a vibrant community.
Research impact and innovation
This year we explored groundbreaking research across artificial intelligence, human-centred computing, communications networks and electronics.
Highlights included:
- 3 case studies focusing on the use of Artificial Intelligence
- Research groups and centres profiles
- New Academic blog series: my research in 300 words
Student successes
Student experience remained a key focus throughout the year. Our student ambassadors also played a vital role in helping us showcase life at EECS through videos, testimonials and event coverage.

Employability
With employability a growing priority for prospective students, we introduced new content focused on graduate outcomes, placements and careers support.
Key achievements included:
- Launch of EECS Employability Hubs, for both UG and PG

- Careers and employability staff features
Celebrating our community
We also shared stories that reflected the diversity and strength of our community, including:
- Women in Higher Education Network initiatives
- Athena Swan Silver Award success
- Opening of the new Informatics Teaching Laboratory
Looking ahead
As we prepare for the 2026/27 academic year, we look forward to continuing to share the stories that define the School: groundbreaking research, innovative teaching, strong industry connections and the achievements of our students, staff and alumni.
