Dr Mona Jaber, Senior Lecturer in Internet of Things, has been elected Section Secretary serving for two years at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
The IEEE is a global organisation dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. As the world’s largest technical professional society, it brings together engineers, scientists, and other professionals from around the globe.
In the UK and Ireland, the IEEE is managed by volunteers known as Section Officers, who are tasked with overseeing the Section’s activities. These officers are elected to ensure compliance with IEEE regulations while delivering value to its members.
Dr. Mona Jaber has been an active IEEE volunteer, holding executive committee roles across various Organisational Units, including IEEE Women in Engineering and the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society. During her tenure, she organised two technical workshops in 2022 and 2024 at Queen Mary University of London, as well as the Section’s networking event in 2024, which featured IEEE President Tom Coughlin.
These initiatives have brought international recognition to Queen Mary University of London, fostering collaborations and attracting talent. As Section Secretary, Dr. Jaber remains committed to promoting the university and highlighting its excellence in teaching and research.
