Profile
Katie graduated with an MEng in Computer Science from the University of Bristol before deciding to trade one circuit board for another; the brain. During her PhD at Trinity College Dublin she discovered her love of Drosophila research while studying the dopaminergic modulation of olfactory circuits. This research combined detailed analysis of connectomic datasets with in vivo calcium imaging and behaviour. Katie's main scientific interests are in sensory perception and how this perception can change under different conditions. She joined the Arguello lab in 2026 to investigate the evolution of temperature preference across different Drosophila species.
