Who could replace UK PM Boris Johnson if he's forced out?

The "Partygate" scandal over revelations of Johnson and his staff partying during pandemic lockdowns has triggered a collapse in his approval ratings. MPs are calling on him to to resign. Speaking on who would be most likely to become the next Leader of the Conservative party, Tim Bale, Professor of Politics said: "Sunak has to be the favorite on the grounds of electability alone. He's also unlikely to divide the party, which is always a key criteria. That said, he might need to move fast lest his popularity with the public evaporates as the cost of living crisis accelerates."
