Tony Blair’s soggy tie holds lessons for the EU elections

An opinion piece published in the Financial Times highlights the need for a fresh round of constitutional change to recognise the long-term trend for voters to feel less loyalty to either the Conservatives or Labour and states that, ironically, Britain’s politics has become more “European” in its range of parties just as we leave the EU. Professor Tim Bale is quoted in the piece saying: “Electoral reform often happens when there is this mismatch.”
