Evo Morales’ resignation

Lecturer in Latin American Politics and International Development, Dr Angus McNelly, appeared on France 24 to discuss the resignation and exile of former Bolivian President, Evo Morales. Dr McNelly said: “It's important to note that in the process leading up to Evo Morales resignation there were multiple different currents asking for different things. You had a middle class, pro-democracy current, which was supported in the nine departmental capitals and included basically all sectors of the middle classes and the university students. There was also regional current which was much further to the right which had demands that were linked to regime change.”
