Professor Tim Bale, After Theresa May, Tory members will be crying out for a Brexiteer

Published:

The Telegraph featured research by Queen Mary Professor Tim Bale on how strongly Tory party members feel about Brexit. The Telegraph reports: “Just one in four of those Conservative Party members surveyed thinks the UK should stay in the single market or customs union, ideas passionately espoused by Ms Soubry and her fellow ideologues. Just 14 per cent are supportive of a second referendum on the Brexit deal, which supporters prefer to call a "People's Vote". Tory Remainer MPs like to pretend they represent the mainstream of the party, but it turns out to be quite the contrary.”
