"Europe is today the deadliest migration destination in the world and the Mediterranean is becoming an open-air cemetery,” writes Dr Sarah Wolff in reaction to the migrant boat tragedy off the coast of Libya. She discusses what needs to be done to address the issue saying the EU ‘has been unable, over the past three years, to act as the responsible political authority it ought to be – preferring to leave Italy to tackle the problem alone’.
