Alexandra Topping for the Guardian has written on the impact that the election of François Hollande will have on women in France. She talked to Dr Rainbow Murray, who comments that Hollande's victory could mark a big shift for women in France: "He wanted to win women's votes, of course, but I think we will see a big rise in the number of female candidates not just selected, but put in winnable seats." Dr Murray also comments on the need for Hollande to improve the Socialist brand after the Dominique Strauss-Kahn affair.
