This dialogue event, presented by the Centre for the Study of Race, Class and Empire, will honor the memory and lasting intellectual legacy of Elleni Centime Zeleke.
An interdisciplinary scholar of Ethiopia and author of the trailblazing book, Ethiopia in Theory, Zeleke was an Assistant Professor of African Studies in the Department of Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies (MESAAS) at Columbia University.
This panel, moderated by Layli Uddin (Queen Mary), brings together her colleagues and friends, including Prof. Safia Aidid (University of Toronto), Prof. Alden Young (Yale University), Prof. Richard Drayton (King's College London), and Dr. Chris Moffat (Queen Mary) to discuss her enduring impact on multiple fields, her commitments to African epistemologies and knowledge production, and the future directions her research has inspired.
