Profile

Matthew is an expert in public opinion, polling and political behaviour and a regular commentator in the media on politics and public attitudes.

From October 2023 to September 2026, Matthew was a British Academy Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Queen Mary, where he was awarded his PhD in 2021.

He is now Associate Director at The Hanwell Group, where he leads THG's Polling and Insights capacity, helping clients understand what the public thinks, and why it matters.
