The delegation met with Andres Albo, the Director of Social Commitment, and Vanessa Gonzalez, Director of Social Promotion. They discussed funding models for start-ups focused on social purposes, which Queen Mary is leading in London, as well as potential education programmes involving industry to boost the economy, which Queen Mary currently deliver. These initiatives will bring together Citibanamex, Queen Mary and the many Mexican universities we partner with, building on long-standing, trusted relationships that champion social mobility, which Queen Mary is leading in the UK and long-term relationships between the UK and Mexico.

This meeting built on the strong existing relationship between Queen Mary and Citibanamex, which first began over five years ago. This includes our work on the United Kingdom in Mexico initiative, which was funded by Citibanamex’s Social Commitment Division, and opened the doors of opportunity to many talented students in Mexico from less privileged backgrounds.
