The 2012 National Student Survey (NSS) questioned UK undergraduates on various aspects of their student experience, including their overall satisfaction. Among the leading research universities in London, Queen Mary’s students are the most satisfied for the second year in a row, ahead of their Russell Group counterparts.

The survey results show that 87 per cent of Queen Mary students are satisfied with the quality of their course, compared with a sector average of 85 per cent.

Queen Mary achieved exceptionally high satisfaction results in several subject areas. 97 per cent of students studying Physics were satisfied or extremely satisfied, as were those taking Dentistry. Dentistry’s overall satisfaction has risen 18 percentage points from 2011, moving the course up eight positions to place 6th in the UK.

Other courses to achieve exceptionally high approval ratings were English (94 per cent), Geography (94 per cent), Chemistry (93 per cent), Aerospace Engineering (92 per cent), Biochemistry (91 per cent), Linguistics and Film Studies (both at 90 per cent).
