Lectureships/Senior Lectureships
These 25 Lectureship / Senior Lectureship posts are permanent Teaching and Research academic positions, open to candidates who can contribute highest-quality research in one of the three strategic research priority areas:
- Digital Environment;
- Bioscience and MedTech; and/or
- Green Energy and Sustainability.
Candidates should also be positive about delivering and designing student education and being an active and collaborative member of Queen Mary’s local and global community.
Successful candidates will be talented academics at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level, with a strong research track record appropriate to the level. We will provide the supportive, nurturing research intensive environment to further enhance these talents through providing access to experienced mentors and high-quality support and facilities through probation and beyond.
Successful candidates will be supported to achieve a higher education teaching qualification in their first three years at Queen Mary (if they do not already hold an equivalent qualification), which coincides with the expected probationary period.
There is an expectation that successful candidates are active in applying for and winning research awards to underpin their research. We provide an environment that supports researchers in seeking and securing external funding opportunities.
All academic staff at Queen Mary University of London are expected to contribute to the administration and citizenship of the University. This could include activities such as leading on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion for your School, participating in peer review of grant applications or taking the role of Chair of Examinations. During the first three years these duties would be minimal unless new staff have a particular passion and expertise.
