Getting Ready for University

Starting university means lots of changes, but don’t worry – we’ve pulled together all the key information for new students.

We’re always excited when new students start at Queen Mary, and want to make it as easy as possible.  Check out our New Student Website to get a better picture of what your first few days will be like. We cover everything from student support to course inductions, and it should take all the worry out of waiting to start.

Got specific questions? Try some of the links below.

For induction schedules and initial timetables, click here. The list is broken up into schools so you can find the right one for your course.

If you’re looking for information on enrolment, click here. It has everything you need to know about online pre-enrolment and what to do when you get here.

The accommodation guide is for all students, whether you’re planning to live on campus or in private housing.  You can also read about residential support services. It’s all right here.

Student health and wellbeing is incredibly important to us. Learn about student healthcare and the Queen Mary Student Health Service here.

Once you have your Queen Mary email address and QMPlus login details you can access ‘Building Relationships at Queen Mary’, a Moodle /online course on how to meet fellow students and staff at Queen Mary. Explore the module to hear Queen Mary students’ tips.

Finally, if you’re curious about what your first week at Queen Mary will be like, see our guide to welcome week and all the events and activities being held. This includes library FAQs and some important dates from the Students' Union.
