The Alan Turing Institute’s Data Science for Science programme is looking to hire four Research Fellows to work on research that applies data science and AI methods to environmental science and molecular biology.

Two positions in environmental science

We are looking for people who will significantly grow the research activity at The Alan Turing Institute, in collaboration with our partner organisations, and gain external funding to underpin this activity. Candidates will be experts in data science and artificial intelligence with experience in working in an interdisciplinary setting, within the context of environmental science. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring the earth from satellite images;
  • Monitoring the oceans;
  • Biodiversity;
  • Measuring and modelling different forms of pollution;
  • Modelling and prediction of extreme events;
  • Using AI methods and models to inform policy;
  • Impact of climate change on food security.

We are looking for people who will significantly grow the research activity at The Alan Turing Institute, in collaboration with our partner organisations, and gain external funding to underpin this activity. Candidates will be experts in data science and artificial intelligence with experience in working in an interdisciplinary setting, within the context of molecular biology. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Genomics;
  • Imaging at molecular and cellular level;
  • Plant biology;
  • Population biology;
  • The future of agriculture;
  • Wildlife conservation.
