Three Minute Thesis competition 2022

3 Minute Thesis (3MT®)  challenges doctoral candidates to present a compelling spoken presentation on their research topic and its significance in just three minutes!
 
3MT is an international research communication competition developed by the University of Queensland, Australia. Queen Mary has participated since 2014 and our finalist goes on to compete nationally for an opportunity to win a prestigious award and a £3000 or £1000 grant from UK Research and Innovation to spend on a public engagement activity of their choosing.
 
Applications to enter the 2022 Queen Mary 3MT competition are now open and close on 6 February 2022. The prizes for the Queen Mary final are vouchers of your choice for £150 (Winner), £100 (Runner-up), £50 (People’s Choice Award).

How to enter the competition
All you need to do to enter the competition is submit a title and a short abstract (max. 2000 characters/approx. 300 words) by the end of 6 February 2022.
Eligibility: All doctoral students, at any stage of their research, can participate in the national competition. If you are in your final year, you can participate as long as you will not have had your viva by the time of the Queen Mary final (13 June 2022).

 
Individual feedback on your script
Once you enter the competition, you’ll have several opportunities to receive individual feedback on your pitch before presenting it at the Faculty Heats.
