Race and Identity in Academic Careers

All of us who work within academic institutions, particularly PhD students and post-docs, will care that they are largely run by older white men.  Join us for a panel discussion, chaired by Queen Mary University of London PhD Law student Deborah Lawunmi, to find out more about this important topic and how academics of colour at different stages of their career have navigated the issues that they face.

Tuesday, 26th April 2022, 13:00-14:00, online through Teams.

Book on the Careers Hub website
(PhDs: use your ‘preferred’ email address to log-in; post-docs will need to email careers@qmul.ac.uk to create a profile to be able to log-in; please email careers@qmul.ac.uk with any difficulties).

Speakers include

  • Dr Iwi Ugiagbe-Green, Reader (Learning & Teaching) The Manchester Metropolitan University;
  • Dr John Adentire, Strategic Lecturer in Law, Queen Mary; and
  • Dr Akram Alomainy, Deputy Dean for PGR students in S&E, Queen Mary.
