We are delighted to let you know that bookings for annual Commonwealth & International Student Christmas conference are now open for Friday 15th – Sunday 17th December; and Monday 18th – Wednesday 20th December.

Published:

Since 1947, the Cumberland Lodge has opened their house to extend a warm welcome to students from all over the world who are currently studying in the UK, to enjoy thought-provoking seminars and workshops, meeting others who are studying away from home, and to experience a British Christmas in their beautiful 17th century home and surrounding park.

Their interdisciplinary programme is designed to inspire discussion and debate on key themes related to their work, supported by guest speakers and facilitators. In recent years, these have included academics, comedians, film directors, artists and musicians.

The theme for this year is the role of festivals in bringing people together, and understanding how we can have better conversations over the dinner table with those who might hold different views. The programme will also include:

  • A carol service at the Royal Chapel of All Saints, close to Cumberland Lodge
  • A guided winter trail through Windsor Great Park (weather permitting)
  • A traditional Christmas dinner, including a visit from Father Christmas
  • Evening entertainment.

Final details of the programme will be available on their website in December.

Delivery of the conference programme is subsidised by their charitable funds, as part of work to nurture intercultural exchange among students and young people, and to develop ethical leadership. Tickets for this event include two nights of accommodation, along with all meals and activities, and are priced as follows:

  • Shared occupancy room with en-suite facilities: £180 per person

There are a small number of single occupancy rooms available for an additional supplement. Please enquire for more information.

Universities can reserve a maximum of four places at each conference by emailing:

programmeteam@cumberlandlodge.ac.uk

Places at this event are limited and fill quickly. The registration does not need names and email addresses of students until 01 November, so it is possible for to hold reserved places until then. After this date, the Cumberland Lodge will contact students with an Eventbrite registration and follow up with university invoices once final numbers are confirmed.

The Cumberland Lodge can be found at @CumberlandLodge on social media if you wish to tag us or share their posts.
