342 individual study spaces are open on the third and fourth floor to provide additional study space during the examination period. There will be no study resources such as books or DVDs held on these floors.

You can access the third and fourth floors from the second floor south reading room through a new staircase. Lift access is available via the lift near the Teaching Collection.  However, please note, there is no step-free access the week beginning Monday 17 April while the lift is still being commissioned; access will be available via this route from Tuesday 25 April. We apologise for the inconvenience this causes. Step free access remains available to floors one and two via the lift in the Group Study Area.

No works will be carried out on the 3rd and 4th floors during this time; some work will begin in May to the Second Floor South Reading room.

The third and fourth floors will close after the main Mile End examination period for the works to be completed. This will increase the number of study spaces from over 300 to over 450 across both floors and glazing will be installed to the atrium and staircases.

The extension will open fully in September for the new academic year.

If you have any feedback on the space, please contact library-environment@qmul.ac.uk
