Profile

Lujain’s roles include the development of the physiology curriculum and teaching physiology to medical students in the MBBS and GEP programs. Additionally, Lujain facilitates problem-based learning (PBL) sessions and co-leads physiology projects for student-selected components (SSC).

Lujain received her PhD from the University of Bristol. Her thesis explored the changes and manifestation of post-ischaemic cardiac remodelling following ischemia-reperfusion injury. Before this, Lujain obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree and a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from An-Najah National University, Palestine.  She is a licensed medical doctor in Palestine and a member of the Physiological Society and the British Society for Cardiovascular Research (BSCR).

Teaching

Frances teaches across phase one of the MBBS programme, in modules; Fundamentals of medicine, cardiorespiratory, metabolism, locomotor, brain and behaviour and human development for year 1, 2 and graduate entry of the MBBS.

In addition, Frances teaches anatomy on the Prehospital care iBSc and MSc, the physician’s associate programme and the Biomedical sciences degree.
