Barts Centre for Squamous Cancer mini-symposium 2025
Our 2025 mini-symposium took place in May, with a series of fantastic talks from high-profile speakers focussed on translational biomarkers and clinical prediction. The speakers gave a clear demonstration of how it's possible to bridge basic, translational and clinical research, in order to improve outcomes for patients with squamous cancer. New collaborations were forged, and we look forward to driving forwards excellence in squamous cancer research together.

Barts Centre for Squamous Cancer annual symposium 2024
The 2024 symposium for the Barts Centre for Squamous Cancer took place on Wednesday 24 April 2024. We had a keynote talk from Prof Sabine Werner, ETH Zurich, alongside speakers from across the UK and PhD student speakers from the Barts Centre for Squamous Cancer. It was a fantastic afternoon, with much stimulating discussion on how to improve outcomes for patients with squamous cancer.
Barts Centre for Squamous Cancer annual symposium 2023
The 2023 symposium for the Barts Centre for Squamous Cancer took place on Wednesday 26 April 2023. The symposium included an international keynote address from Professor Paolo Dotto (Harvard, and President of the International Cancer Prevention Institute), and a series of short talks showcasing squamous cancer research at QMUL and throughout the UK.

On Wednesday 28 April 2021, we held a virtual symposium to launch the new Barts Centre for Squamous Cancer. This included an afternoon of exciting talks showcasing cutting edge squamous cancer research, and a keynote presentation from Professor Jennifer Grandis (UCSF), an international leader in the field.
