What is involved if I join Health Legacy?

You will be invited to attend two study visits (usually at a research facility, hospital or GP).

During visit 1, you will:

  • Be given details of the study (Health Legacy Participant Information Sheet [PDF 159KB]) by our research team and asked to complete a consent form (Health Legacy Informed Consent Form [PDF 66KB]);
  • Be asked to complete a brief questionnaire about yourself and your health, give a saliva (spit) sample for genetic studies, have a blood test to give us important information about your overall health
  • Have a brief health assessment, including answering some questions and having some simple measurements taken like your height and weight.

You will also be asked to wear a glucose sensor on your arm for 14 days.

During visit 2, you will:

  • Complete unfinished questionnaires or assessments from visit 1
  • Follow up of blood test results from visit 1
  • Glucose sensor removal
  • Interview about your experiences of health and healthcare (optional, some studies only)

Will I be reimbursed for my time?

Yes. If you join Health Legacy, we will reimburse you with a £75 multi-use shopping voucher that can be used online and in supermarkets. Reimbursement will be provided once all study visits are completed.
