Want to make your lectures and seminars more interactive? This session covers how to get started with Mentimeter, and then shows how it can go beyond right-or-wrong answers to spark discussion, draw out opinions and build dialogue in the classroom.

 What to expect

  • Getting started with Mentimeter. Ebba Elman, QMUL's Customer Success Manager at Mentimeter, will show you how to get started with Mentimeter and the use of Mentimeter in the teaching space.
  • Mentimeter in practice. Stephen Buckingham, a QMUL academic, will share how he uses Mentimeter to do more than check knowledge. Rather than simply seeing who got the answer right, he uses it to prompt opinions, encourage students to take a position and start discussions, both with him and among students.
  • Q&A. Put your questions to Stephen about his approach, and to Ebba about the platform, how QMUL can make the most of it, and where to find support.

 Who should attend?

Anyone at QMUL who teaches or supports teaching and wants new ways to engage students. You're welcome whether you're new to Mentimeter or already use it and want fresh ideas.
