Profile
Nurmilah completed her PhD at the University of Dundee, UK. Her PhD research focused on the Surface Analysis of Electron Beam Induced Chemical Modification (ECM) of Amorphous Chalcogenide/metal Bilayers. This led to submicron and nanometre-scale patterning that enables single-stage fabrication of X-ray masks. Her work involved a number of high-end instruments, including TEM, STEM, SEM modified with nanolithography control software, AFM, and EDX.
At the School of Physical and Chemical Sciences, Nurmilah works primarily with research groups in the Centre for Experimental Physics and Quantum Technology, supporting laboratory and research activities in Advanced Materials Characterisation, Nanofabrication, and Quantum Transport.
