Profile

Project Title: Studying Modified Gravity through gravitational wave generation from compact binaries

Content: Currently applying the ppN formalism (developed for solar system tests of gravity) to compact binaries in order to parameterise deviations from General Relativity. This work slots into a larger picture of attempting to constrain gravity using cosmology.

This project will include the following activities:

1) Understanding and applying multiple theories of gravities, and parameterised gravitational formalisms in order to obtain the best theoretical constraints on gravitational waves from binaries.

2) Employing computer algebra to compute, simplify and interpret complex algebraic expressions.

Funding: Scientific Technologies Facilities Council (STFC)
