The Centre for Theoretical Physics (CTP) at Queen Mary University of London seeks to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Theoretical Physics. Applicants should have a strong research record within theoretical physics, broadly defined, and ideally in at least one area related to current research in the CTP, such as perturbative and non-perturbative aspects of quantum field theory, string theory, holography, and black hole physics.

Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in generalized symmetries and/or non-perturbative aspects of topological field theory, conformal field theory, or supersymmetric field theory.

The position is for 15 months, potentially extended to 19 months (subject to decision of funding agency in early 2022) and then to 22 months (this additional time is subject to funding availability in 2023). The start date is flexible, but it can be no later than 1 October 2022. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £32,087 - £36,639 per year (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
