Hyper-Kamiokande Experiment to Begin Construction in April 2020

On Sept 12th, Prof T. Kajita, 2015 Nobel Prize Laureate and Director of the Institute for Cosmic Ray Research (ICRR), University of Tokyo, on behalf of the University of Tokyo, host lab of the Hyper-Kamiokande experiment together with KEK, announced that the construction of the Hyper-Kamiokande experiment will start in 2020 (https://www.interactions.org/press-release/hyper-kamiokande-experiment-begin-construction-april-2020).
QMUL physicists help discover sought-after decay of Higgs boson

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) has at last observed the Higgs boson decaying into a pair of b quarks; physicists in the School of Physics and Astronomy’s Particle Physics Research Group played a key role in the team working at CERN on the ATLAS experiment that made the discovery.
