The Economic & Social Research Council (ESRC) funds the London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (LISS DTP) for PhD or Masters+PhD study at Queen Mary. This DTP is in partnership with Kings College London and Imperial College.

It provides social science research students with a unique opportunity to join and develop a research community that springs from the interface between the social science disciplines with health and medicine, the natural and physical sciences, engineering, and the arts and humanities.

Depending on your previous degrees, you may be admitted for the 1+3 (Masters + PhD over 4 years) or +3 (PhD only). Full eligibility and guidelines for admission can be found here

This award is fully funded for UK students. Please read the ESRC’s residency requirements for studentships to determine whether you are eligible for an award before you start the application process.  If you have been classed as ‘overseas’ or ‘international’ for fees purposes by the institution you are applying for admission to, you will not be eligible.  EU students can apply for a LISS DTP studentship on a fees-only basis.  LISS DTP may be able to provide stipend funding to successful EU applicants through institutional money, budget dependent.

There are 13 "thematic pathways" funded through this DTP. Full details of this year's pathways can be found here
