The Scholarship is available to all international students with an offer for an eligible programme*, regardless of nationality, who meet the following criteria:

  • Achieve a UK 1st Class Honours or overseas equivalent
  • Hold an offer for an eligible postgraduate taught programme for September 2024 intake*
  • Have overseas fee status

Global Talent Scholarships will be awarded automatically to self-funded international students with a UK first class honours degree (or equivalent) – there is no application or registration process. The scholarship will be deducted from a recipient’s tuition fees when they enrol at Queen Mary.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. You must have achieved a UK First Class Bachelor’s degree or an overseas equivalent degree. Information on the comparability of international qualifications can be found on the Entry Requirements section under the listings for each programme in the course finder. Please note this information is only intended as a guide and the final decision on equivalency of overseas qualifications will be made by the Admissions Office.
  2. This scheme is available only to students who apply for and enrol on an eligible course taught at Queen Mary in the 2024/25 academic year. Scholarships cannot be deferred to subsequent years of study.
  3. Your fee status must have been confirmed as ‘Overseas’ by Queen Mary and must remain ‘Overseas’ throughout the programme. This award is not available to applicants assessed as ‘Home’ for fee status purposes, regardless of domicile.
  4. You must be enrolled on a full-time master’s programme.
  5. You must not be in receipt of any other University scholarship or full-fee scholarship from any other source. Students who are in receipt of a repayable Scholarship loan/award, such as FIDERH, FUNED or COLFUTURO are eligible.
  6. You must be fully self-funded.
  7. Pre-masters programmes (standalone and integrated) are not included in the Global Talent Scholarship scheme.
  8. If you are awarded the scholarship, it will be deducted directly from tuition fees payable to the University. You must be able to finance the remainder of your tuition fees and living expenses.
  9. The scholarship will be confirmed when your admissions status is ‘unconditional firm’ (UF) and you enrol at Queen Mary.
  10. The scholarship is awarded by Queen Mary in line with the eligibility criteria and application requirements published above. We reserve the right to withdraw the scholarship if your fee status changes to Home or if you otherwise become ineligible for the award.
