The module maps out both classic and contemporary work in mental health and relates theory to practice, particularly in psychotherapy. Research is drawn from a number of different therapeutic treatments, such as psychoanalysis, CBT, group and family therapy and 3rd wave therapies. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the effectiveness of each method and how these are used to treat a range of mental illnesses such as Psychosis, Depression and Personality Disorders.
Students will be also submitting a reflective piece based on their clinical placement.
