This module includes foundational topics in differential equations such as exact and non-exact equations, power series solutions and Laplace transform; partial differential equations with applications in physics (e.g. the heat equation, Laplace's equation); and linear algebra including vector spaces, linear operators, basis transformations, and orthogonalization techniques, with a focus on Hermitian matrices and eigenvalue problems, similarity transformations and matrix diagonalisation.
