In a world where the relationship between the local, the national and the global is coming under increasing scrutiny, Switzerland, with its four national languages and associated traditions, offers a fascinating model for diversity on the one hand and interconnection on the other. In this module we will look at certain political, geographical, historical and linguistic peculiarities of the country and explore how they affect local cultures, a particular sense of nationhood and Switzerland¿s relations with other countries, including the UK.
