From boy bands to Valentines, our language of love was first formulated in the Middle Ages. This module traces the early history of that language, through poetry and songs composed in Europe between the 12th and 15th centuries. You will explore compositions in various languages, via English translations. Through a range of activities, including AI-assisted creative rewriting of translations, you will develop your skills in analysis and critical reflection, as well as your understanding of complex texts and cultural differences.
