Designed for students who have an interest in Spanish Language and Cultures. The module emphasises the global importance of Spanish language and Spanish speaking cultures and is intended for students with a lower intermediate user level. It develops the ability of students to operate practically and effectively in the target language. The challenge of learning a language develops the greater cultural and political awareness, which is a crucial aspect of being an educated `global citizen'. The overall aims for this Module are to help students to develop a sound foundation in Spanish language alongside an ability to communicate in a confident and competent manner. The syllabus is liberally supplemented with authentic listening and reading material against a backdrop of a carefully designed and progressive grammar syllabus.
