This module is a broad survey of the history of the UK from the Suez Crisis to the 'Brexit' referendum. It examines key political, economic, and diplomatic events and developments during the period. It also addresses cultural and social changes during the second half of the twentieth century and considers their impact upon the contemporary United Kingdom.
In addition, and continuing the process begun in Semester A, the module will help students develop further their skills in interpreting and assessing evidence and presenting their informed conclusions orally and in writing.
