This is a practical-based module wherein students conduct original research supervised by an academic member of staff for a period of approximately 10-12 weeks. Students are required to explore the background of the research and its rationale, construct hypotheses to be tested, learn necessary skills with which to conduct the work, compile results and analyse them. They will write a dissertation of approximately 8-10,000 words including critical analysis of literature, reporting of experimental design
and results as well as their evaluation.
