This compulsory module provides training in key research methods for physical geography and environmental science, complementing knowledge and skills acquired in GEG4011 Introduction to Research Methods. This will include practice in laboratory and field techniques, as well as data analysis and interpretation, digital cartography and reporting skills, delivered through lectures and practical work (field, lab, computer) and a non-residential field course. It provides a foundation for level 5 methods modules (GEG5216,GEG5217) and for the level 6 dissertation.
